The Isarco Valley is the birthplace of the “Toerggelen€
The “Toerggelen” in the Isarco Valley has now begun, the fifth season, as we use to say. The winegrowers are now opening their lounges and strive to offer their guests a wonderful time. This allows you to stop for example at the Kastanienweg in the Mittelgebirge after a colourful hike and enjoy the “Nuin” (new wine), as well as traditional, native, rural dishes, such as Schlutzkrapfen, barely broth, sweet krapfen or natural chestnuts. It is also pleasant to just appreciate the happy togetherness, where everyone sings, and musicians play their music. Cheerfulness comes by itself.
The chestnuts-walk (Kastanienweg)
The Kastanienweg (Törggelesteig) begins in the village centre of Villanders, in St. Valentin, but can also be kicked off from our Huberhof in Sauders and is well-signposted. However, the classic route starts in Klausen on path no. 4 in the direction to Villanders over the old connecting route. If you impinge upon the Törggelesteig, it is best to take the left, just under Villanders to Sauders, then up to Villanders to arrive again to path no. 4 and complete the circular walk.
